Vision King’s Lynn

WELCOME TO VISION KING’S LYNN

Find out more about the major investment and regeneration we’re driving forward in King’s Lynn, to help unlock the full potential of our unique place for local communities in West Norfolk.

INVESTMENT AND REGENERATION IN KING’S LYNN

Our transformative projects are delivering new facilities, opportunities and jobs for residents, supporting the local economy and making more of our rich heritage buildings and spaces for a stronger and sustainable future.

Through major regeneration and investment, our town will become a better connected, more attractive and accessible place, where residents and businesses are inspired and supported to achieve their ambitions, visitors choose to explore as a destination, and where there is more for everyone who comes into the town to enjoy and experience.

Backed by significant Government funding and driven forward by a dynamic team at the Borough Council and King’s Lynn Neighbourhood Board, work is underway to deliver exciting projects that will bring the positive change local people tell us they want to shape the future of our town.

TOWN INVESTMENT PRIORITIES

We are delivering for King’s Lynn around five priority areas:

  • Improve town centre attractiveness and cultural experience
  • Create a successful, modern, mixed-use town centre
  • Enhance connectivity and accessibility
  • Improve safety, security and community wellbeing
  • Raise young people’s aspirations and support business and skills growth

LATEST NEWS

The vision for the St George’s Guildhall and Creative Hub moved a step forward with the submission of the business case to government.

The project is a pivotal part of the £25m Town Fund programme, which will transform the town centre with a number of innovative schemes aimed at growing business, increasing skills and regenerating historical features.

Throughout the summer, Stories of Lynn and Norfolk Museums Service with support from the Borough Council are providing an exciting and fun programme of Shakespeare-inspired activities to engage young people and their families both with the work of The Bard, and the history of one of King’s Lynn’s most treasured historic assets – St George’s Guildhall.

Support for the new vision for St George’s Guildhall is growing, with stars from stage and screen, as well as Shakespearean scholars and cultural groups showing their support for the project.

The St George’s Guildhall and Creative Hub project has also passed another milestone with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Cabinet nominating the project as a Town Deal priority.

This June, the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk’s Cabinet will be asked to approve adjustments to the Town Deal programme which the Town Deal Board have made to refine projects set out in the original Towns Fund bid.
